Eskişehir Technical University Faculty of Science has adopted the vision of being a pioneering faculty
that produces basic information that will be the key to scientific innovations and provides education to the
society by using all kinds of media. Faculty of Science; In addition to Physics, Chemistry and Biology, he
gives education in the fields of Mathematics, which is the language of nature, and Statistics, which is the
science of interpreting natural social science data using appropriate methods. Education in the faculty is
carried out by making use of laboratory facilities equipped with advanced technology. Students also take
vocational elective courses and social elective courses; thus, they are trained as individuals who are
versatile, researcher qualified, self-confident and equipped with contemporary knowledge. The aim of the
Faculty of Science is in laboratories and classrooms equipped with advanced technology; It trains rational,
self-confident, questioning and researcher graduates in the fields of biology, physics, statistics,
chemistry and mathematics. At least 30% of the courses are taught in English in the Statistics and Chemistry
Departments of the faculty and there is a compulsory English Preparatory Class in these departments. In the
Biology, Physics and Mathematics Departments, the English Preparatory Class is optional and lasts for one
year. All departments of the faculty have been accredited by FEDEK for the second time for 5 years until
September 30, 2023. The Faculty also has International Joint Undergraduate Programs (paid) run by the
Biology and Chemistry Departments together with the Biology and Chemistry Departments of the State
University of New York at Albany in the United States, and the language of instruction of these programs is
English. There is an English Preparatory Class for these programs as well. Faculty of Science is affiliated

| Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics |
Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences, a leading institution in aviation education; It offers
undergraduate education in Aviation Electrical and Electronics, Air Traffic Control, Aviation Management,
Pilotage and Airframe Engine Maintenance. The aim of the faculty is to bring qualified aviation personnel to
the sector in the fields of air traffic control, aviation management, pilotage and aircraft maintenance in
accordance with international aviation standards and air transport rules. In addition to flight training
activities, the Faculty operates the International Eskişehir Hasan Polatkan Airport, where domestic and
international flights are made. It carries out maintenance and repair activities for its fleet of 13
aircraft, including King Air C90GTi, Cessna 172 and TB20 types, which it uses in pilot training, at the
SHY-145 approved Aircraft Maintenance Center. Simulation lessons are carried out using the FNPTII and MCC
flight simulators, the Aerodrome Control (TWR) Simulator, which provides 360-degree views, the field and
approach (ACC-APP) Air Traffic Control Radar Simulators, and the state-of-the-art synthetic training tools.
In addition, students have the opportunity to receive practical training in their fields in 28 fully
equipped laboratories and workshops. The Faculty was established in 1986 as "Civil Aviation Vocational
School" in order to train qualified operational personnel in accordance with international standards for the
Turkish Aviation Sector. With the opening of four-year undergraduate programs in 1992, the name of the
school was changed to "Civil Aviation College". In 2012, it was restructured according to international
higher education standards and the requirements of the global aviation industry, and renamed as "Faculty of
Aviation and Space Sciences". Students are admitted to the Air Traffic Control Department within the faculty
with a pre-registration and special talent exam, and to other departments with the central student selection
and placement system exams (YKS). |

It was established as Eskişehir State Engineering-Architecture Academy in 1970, and as a result of the
restructuring of educational institutions in Eskişehir under the name Anadolu University in 1983, it
continued its education and training by taking the name Anadolu University Faculty of
Engineering-Architecture. With the Decree Law No. 496 dated 18.8.1993, the majority of the Faculty of
Engineering and Architecture staff were transferred to Eskişehir Osmangazi University with their
infrastructure, machinery, equipment and other equipment. The faculty, which still continues its education
and training under the name of Engineering Faculty, started its education activities with three departments
in the 1994-1995 academic year and continued its activities in different buildings on the Yunus Emre Campus
until 1998. Since October 1998, it has started to serve in its own buildings on İki Eylül Campus. In 2012,
the Department of Architecture within the Faculty was separated and transferred to the newly established
Faculty of Architecture and Design, and the name of the Faculty was changed to “Faculty of Engineering”. The
Faculty of Engineering is affiliated to Eskişehir Technical University, which was established with the Law
No. 7141 published in the Official Gazette dated May 18, 2018 and numbered 30425. |
| Sports Science Faculty |
The School of Physical Education and Sports, which was established with the Decree Law No. 496 dated
August 18, 1993, was closed with the decision of the Council of Ministers (2013/5074) published in the
Official Gazette dated July 24, 2013 and transformed into the Faculty of Sports Sciences. It was included in
Eskişehir Technical University with the Law No. 7141 published in the Official Gazette dated May 18, 2018.
To increase the quality of life of the people of the city, region, country and the world; to provide and
disseminate universal knowledge through education, research and projects in sports sciences; to contribute
to the growth of healthy people with sports and social applications; to support the society to make sports a
way of life; Mediating the development of sportive abilities is among the main aims of the faculty. In the
faculty, physical education and sports teachers, trainers, recreation specialists and sports managers are
trained, who understand the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary structure of sports science that will
contribute to the development of sports throughout the country, are equipped in terms of professional
knowledge and skills, can follow scientific and technological developments and apply these developments in
their field. Practical lessons and sports activities in the faculty have a total indoor area of 66089 m²
(multi-purpose – basketball, handball, volleyball – gym, artistic gymnastics hall, rhythmic gymnastics hall,
badminton hall, table tennis hall, folk dances and wrestling hall, fencing hall, massage hall, fitness -
fitness - hall, squash hall) in the halls, on the athletics track in accordance with IAAF standards and in
the stadium with a grass football field with a seating capacity of 12527 people in accordance with the
standards. In addition, a 5025-person indoor sports hall (750 m2 fitness room, saunas and doping control
room are available in the hall). |

Graduate Education Institute affiliated to Eskişehir Technical University was established with the
Presidential decision numbered 967 published in the Official Gazette dated April 18, 2019 and numbered
30749. It started its educational activities in the second semester. |
| Institute of Transportation Sciences |
The Transportation Economics Research Institute was established within Anadolu University in 1993 with the
Decree Law No. 496, affiliated to the Rectorate. Changing the name of the Transportation Economics Research
Institute to “Transportation Sciences Institute” was decided by the Council of Ministers on 4/10/2012 and
entered into force after being published in the Official Gazette dated 02 November 2012 and numbered 28455.
The Institute of Transportation Sciences is the first and only institute in its field. |
| Earth and Space Sciences Institute |
The main purpose of our institute is to obtain the necessary information and analyzes for the discovery of
human settlements that do not threaten nature and are not threatened by nature. The studies on Remote
Sensing and Geographic Information Systems, which started in 1989 under the Computer Research and
Application Center of Anadolu University, continued within the Satellite and Space Sciences Research
Institute, which was officially established in 1993. It has been changed to Earth and Space Sciences
Institute since November 2012. |
